Revival what does it mean to you?

Most of us especially if we have grown up in the church would think that having a revival is a big assembly of believers together and the Spirit is out poured on everyone and spirits are refreshed. In the book The Calvary Road Roy Hession describes it in another way and a way that he experienced revival.  We need to learn to humble ourselves and walk the way of the Cross.  Too many times we think that it is others that need to have a revival when really we are the ones who need it.  Revival does not have to always be a big and spectacular event, it can be a very humbling experience between yourself and God. First, we must be willing to allow the Lord to work in our own lives before we can be worried about him working in someone elses life.

Romans 7:5,6 puts it this way:

When we were controlled by our old nature, sinful desires were at work within us, and the law aroused these evil desires that produced sinful deeds, resulting in death. But now we have been released from the law, for we died with Christ, and we are no longer captive to its power. Now we can really serve God, not in the old way by obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way, by the Spirit.

I know that I humbly need to come to the foot of the Cross and let Him work in my life.

Have a blessed and Christ fulfilled day!

Your Chose

God knows us.  He knew us before we were born or formed.  How amazing is that!  He knows our thoughts and our ways.  He knows what we will do in the next moment, hour, and day.

When I went away to college we would sing songs during our devotion time at night. One of the songs that I had learned and never had heard before was a song that came from Psalm 139 verses 23-24.

"Search me oh God, and know my heart; try me and know my thoughts, and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way, lead me in the way everlasting."

Whenever my thoughts tend to wander I think about this song and these verses and ask God to bring my thoughts back to him.

We are given a chose to choose God everlasting or be his enemy forever.  God is still going to love you and wants more than anything for you to choose Him but in the end it is ultimately your chose to make that decision.

The Lord God is the only one who knows all about us from the time we were born until we step into eternity. Their is no way to flee from his presence.  We are his and we were fearfully and wonderfully made by him.

What is your chose going to be?  Will you choose to be His child or His enemy.  The chose is yours.

Have a blessed day friends!

Wisdom

"By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures."  Proverbs 24:3-4

"Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off."  Proverbs 24:14

Do not testify against your neighbor without cause, or use your lips to deceive.  Do not say "I'll do to him as he has done to me; I'll pay that man back for what he did."  Proverbs 24:28-29

Be in wisdom today friends!

Servent or Self Serving?

Today as I reflect on the verses in Amos Chapter 6:1-7 and Luke 22:24-27.  We are reminded that Jesus did not come to this Earth to be served but to serve. That is how our thoughts and minds should be each day. If we want to be more like Jesus we need to have a servants heart. Especially if we are serving those who do not know him.  Letting his light shine through us in a serving attitude will show others his love and be a witness to them.  Even if we don't see any results of repentance right away we may just be the first one planting the seed.

Be still and know that he is God!

The Love and Judgment of our God

God showed his love to us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).  The fact that Jesus would die on the cross for me so that I would have a way to be in heaven with him is beyond incredible!  When it comes down to it who else would show that much love for us and go through what Jesus went through.

On the other hand there are people in this world who want to continue doing what they know to be wrong and sinning before the Lord.  They don't care about what happens until it is too late.  We are given a chose, we can choose to follow God and live an eternal life with him or we can face His judgment and wrath like the Bible explains in Joel chapter 2 and Revelation Chapter 9.

What will your chose be today?

Many blessings my friends!

"Maranatha"

Today as I was reading my devotion I found out that the phrase "Maranatha" means "Come Lord" in Aramaic.  We read several different accounts about those calling out for the Lord to come or telling us about the day of the Lord coming like a thief in the night.  (2 Peter 3:9-13; 1 Thess. 5:1-6; 1Cor. 16:22; Rev. 22:20).  Knowing that the Lord can come at any time should continue to give us a since of urgency to tell others about Him.  The best love that you could show your neighbor or a loved one is the Love that Jesus as shown you. Tell them about Him but also go a step further and listen to them, give them a ride to the store or their job, bring them a meal or invite them to dinner, let God's love shine through in so many ways that you won't want to stop showing it or that you won't want to hide it.  Many blessings to you all today and God Bless!

I am not ashamed

This is my prayer today that I would not be ashamed to share the gospel of Christ. 2 Timothy 1:8,9 says "So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life-not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time"

Many times I do not want to say something to others because of that feeling of rejection.  However, I know that I should not be worried about what others will think of me because I talk about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When we were in WV the Preacher Dan Rogers put it this way; "What would you think if people were ashamed or afraid to tell others about you because they weren't sure of what others response would be or if they would be rejected?"  We wouldn't want someone to be ashamed to talk about us so why are we ashamed to talk about Christ?  We should be proclaiming his name above all else.  There are often times when I do not do this.  My prayer everyday is that I would be bold for Christ and not ashamed to tell others about Him.  Even if it is just one person that day I want to make sure I am proclaiming His name!
